Servings: 4 servings
Course: Appetizer
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • low-sodium chicken rub or seasoning blend to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • carrot and celery sticks (optional, for serving)

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Meat Thermometer
  • Tongs

Method

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Take your frozen chicken wings out of the package. If they are stuck together, gently separate them under cold running water.
  3. Place the wings in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle your favorite low-sodium chicken rub over the top and add freshly ground black pepper to taste. Toss the wings until they are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  5. Cook the wings for 25-30 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  6. Check that the internal temperature of the wings has reached at least 165°F (75°C). If not, continue cooking until done.
  7. Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftover wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze leftovers for up to 2 months and reheat in the air fryer to keep them crispy.
  • For extra crispiness, cook wings for an additional 5 minutes.
