These lightened-up sliders are perfect as a light lunch, appetizer, or crowd-pleasing party food!
I hope you all had an awesome weekend. My weekend involved an endless amount of lobster tails and crab legs, red velvet cupcakes for breakfast and a stack of the most amazing BBQ ribs.
It was definitely a bit on the heavy side so I had no choice but to bring something a bit more healthier to the table today.
By swapping out the ground beef with ground turkey, you get fewer calories, less fat and less saturated fat without having to compromise taste. Plus, if you stuff these babies in honey wheat slider buns with homemade marinara, melted mozzarella and fresh basil leaves, I promise you that you won’t taste a single ounce of healthiness.
Now who said healthy food doesn’t taste good?

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, Panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, oregano, red pepper flakes, egg and parsley. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, stir until well combined. Roll the mixture into 2-inch meatballs, forming about 8-10 meatballs.
3. Place meatballs onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until all sides are browned and meatballs are cooked through.
4. Preheat oven to broil.
5. To assemble the slider, place 1 meatball and a spoonful of marinara on the bottom of each bun. Top with mozzarella and place into oven and bake until cheese has melted, about 1-2 minutes.
6. Serve immediately, topped with 1-2 basil leaves and covered with the slider tops.
