Lightened-up with Greek yogurt in place of whipped cream, these fresh berry trifles can be made in 10 minutes or less!
Jason and I watched our best friends get married last Saturday. It was such a gorgeous ceremony at the cutest venue, The Elysian. And even with 150+ guests, it was such a wonderful low-key, outdoor wedding. But the best part about the wedding wasn’t the open bar or the kahlua pig but it was how happy the couple looked. They really are a match-made in heaven.
My niece and nephew were the chosen flower girl and ring bearer for the ceremony, and here they are, being goofy as ever during the rehearsal dinner.
But twelve hours later, they suited-up to be a fabulous looking duo. And yes, they really are 100% Korean with their peace signs up.
We also tried to get a picture with Chandler but he wasn’t in the best mood.
But once that tie came off, you could see that he’s having a ball. How cute is that smile? It makes me want to have kids. Soon. But let’s not tell Jason.
And this last photo here displays the BEST (no really, they are THE BEST) donuts I’ve ever had. Not to mention that donut stand, made by my one and only Jason. He’s quite the architect! But back to the donuts. They’re actually called “fonuts,” and they’re baked/steamed and NOT fried. It had more of cornbread texture and they just crumbled in your mouth with every bite. I think Jason and I need to stock up on these donuts before we move to San Francisco. Or we could just drive the 367 miles to LA whenever we have a fonuts craving. Wouldn’t you do the same?
Now moving on to these trifles. Man, donuts and trifles. I think I need to get a donut fix before dinner tonight. Although I did have an entire donut before hitting the gym. I clearly have my priorities straight.
No, but back to the trifles.
Greek yogurt. Angel cake. Fresh berries. Layer upon layer. Need I say more? It’s a lightened-up version using Greek yogurt in place of the traditional whipped cream, leaving you to indulge in these guilt-free. Plus, the presentation is just gorgeous (not that I’m tooting my own horn) so these would be the perfect dessert when you’re having guests over. The secret is – they literally take 10 minutes to put together. 10 minutes! Doesn’t get easier than that!
