Dark chocolate, cheeses, crackers, cherries + fresh berries. The most epic dessert cheese board for any date or get-together!
I have made a lot of cheese boards in my day, one for almost every season (spring, summer, winter) and of course, a special one for the holidays, but this one is hands down my favorite.
You have all your favorite cheeses, crackers, fresh fruit and dark chocolate. It is truly the perfect combo of sweet and savory, and it makes for a super impressive dessert spread for any special date-night or get-together.
(Ben actually took this to his best friend’s house while watching the Super Bowl and they crushed all of it. Every single morsel of chocolate was gone. So it really works for all occasions.)
Now for the cheeses, I went with some classics. Brie, gorgonzola, white cheddar, Parmesan and goat cheese. All really good solid cheeses with different flavors and textures without going too crazy.
For chocolate, I highly recommend using good quality chocolates. A mixture of dark chocolate and milk chocolate is a great call, but you can also have so much fun with a sea salt, orange, or caramel variety if you’re feeling adventurous. Additional add-ons can include chocolate-covered crackers/biscuits/wafers.
Once you have your cheeses and chocolates, don’t forget to add in your extras. That means crackers, fruits, and/or nuts. I used cherries and fresh berries for that pop of red for Valentine’s Day but you can really add any fruit in season. Marcona almonds is also a favorite of mine but roasted salted nuts would also be a great accompaniment for that salty mix.
Basically, you just need your cheeses, your chocolates, your extras, your wine/rose and you are golden. Just remember, you cannot go wrong here.
